While working on this composition, created alongside “Future Landscape,” I envisioned an imagined world shaped by the relentless impact of ecological catastrophe. I chose to paint in the tradition of classical landscapes yet focused my attention on the lower portion of the canvas, where a dense, shadowy mass takes form. This darkness is more than mere pigment; it is the embodiment of the earth’s fatigue, silently registering the consequences of our persistent disregard. Through these somber tones and expressive textures, I sought to give voice to the planet’s weariness – a muted lament for all that has been lost and the uncertainty of what remains. In this scene, the land itself seems to whisper, bearing witness to the cost of human actions.
