When I created this painting, I was deeply influenced by the unprecedented circumstances of 2020, when the COVID pandemic swept across the globe and forced us all into confinement. Isolated from the natural world, I poured my longing for green spaces onto the canvas. With every brushstroke, I aimed to capture the beauty and tenderness of fresh, green leaves, each one delicately holding shimmering drops of water. To me, these droplets are not just elements of nature, they are like verses of a poem, celebrating the essential role of water in nurturing life and sustaining our well-being. Through the title “BLINDED,” I wanted to highlight our collective inability to truly see the vital importance of nature. This painting stands as both a tribute and a gentle reproach: a reminder that our neglect of the world around us threatens the very source of our life.
