Inspired by the movie “Nostaghia” by Andrei Tarkovsy, this painting is a pure poetic scene, where The gentle mists of Tuscany drift across the scene envelop the silhouette of the character. Nostalghia (1983) is a deeply personal, autobiographical meditation on the spiritual pain of exile and the profound longing for one’s homeland. I relate to this narrative as I have left my homeland to travel the world and keep my ancestral landscape inside my heart’s sanctuary. It is a testament to the spiritual journey – a search for belonging – where the past clings softly to the contours of the present, and the mist of memory never quite dissipates.
