“Room n°5” is a deeply personal piece from my “Secrets” series, rooted in cherished memories of my childhood. At its heart lies the image of a Poplar tree, which was once my constant companion and confidant – a silent witness to my early years. In the painting, the tree’s form emerges at the center but is obscured and softened by light, reflecting the way recollections blur with time. These gestures of light act as a veil, much like how my memories preserve the essence of our shared secrets, even as the physical tree is gone – cut down and lost to reality. Through this work, I wish to honor the enduring impact of childhood bonds and the bittersweet tension between remembrance and loss.
