The painting captures the bustling energy of rush hour in Shanghai, where individuals appear lost in their own activities almost absent to the wholeness of the picture. The work is part of the ongoing “In Motion” series, which began in 2017. The mood of the composition is light and colorful, exposing the contrasts of paysan workers and corporate people typical of Chinese bustling metropolis. Seating at a terrace, I could live sketch this aiming to reflect the paradoxical utopia present in technologically advanced societies.
