In creating this study for the “Underwater Drama” series, I wanted to draw the viewer deep beneath the ocean’s surface, focusing intently on a scene often overlooked. Here, a single plastic bottle hovers in the murky water, set against the quiet devastation that unfolds daily for marine life. The bottle is not just trash – it’s a stark emblem of human neglect, drifting above the unseen struggles below. Through this composition, my aim was not only to render the physical reality of pollution, but also to confront our collective indifference. I painted this image to prompt reflection, hoping it will stir the conscience of those who see it and inspire real change in our relationship with the oceans.
