Inspired by a moment at Amsterdam Airport at 3pm, this painting from the “In Motion” series explores the perception of movement and time. I used vibrant colors to hint at traces of motion, rendering the scene as a freeze frame reminiscent of a photograph taken with a slow shutter speed. In this composition, solid objects and figures dissolve into glowing streaks and blurs of light, lending the artwork a mysterious and ethereal atmosphere. The result is an almost dreamlike glimpse of a busy airport, where the boundaries between reality and fleeting moments are artfully blurred.
