I envisioned this piece as an invitation a threshold into a poetic realm where my own journey of transformation begins to anchor itself. Within its frame, boundaries dissolve and spatial certainty melts away; we find ourselves hovering in a landscape where time is delicately suspended. It is a liminal world, part northern forest, part interior vista – a reflection that shimmers gently, its surface calm yet subtly alive. A faint vertical haze drifts upward, imparting a sense of both weightlessness and pause, as though the scene itself is quietly holding its breath. Here, four elements harmonise in a fragile equilibrium: water cradles the scene, earth rises in the sturdy trunks, air stirs softly through mist and breeze, and fire glows faintly in the sky above. In moments like these, there is a palpable sense of inward change, a passage between what was and what might be. The trees, though rooted in water instead of soil, remain steadfast – unuprooted, their presence both vulnerable and enduring. As dusk deepens and light recedes, clarity grows within; the fading of the outer world illuminates the inner one. This painting is thus a meditation on transition, balance, and the quiet revelations that emerge in the stillness of dusk.
